162.425: WWG24 Port Angeles Marine fighting with another station
162.45: something rapidly in and out

UPDATE-9:43AM

Still KPQ at a reasonable level on 102.1 FM. KINK slowing fading out on 101.9, revealing static. CSN translator on 105.7, which is from Orting. Just to let you know, I am TV DXing, FM DXing, and NWR DXing at the same time! :D

Question for swhyde1980: What was your analog TV lineup before June 12th? (or before Feb. 17 for KWPX, KVOS and a few others)

-crainbebo

UPDATE-10:18AM

KINK on 101.9 still. 102.1 is still KPQ at 3 1/2/10 level. Something still trying to get into JR FM's space on 93.7!

TV still blowing up with E-skip still on Ch. 2, Ch. 3 and Ch. 4. No more E-skip on Ch. 5. No more E-skip on Ch. 6 as well, because there is no audio on 87.75 mHz. (static only).

UPDATE-11:08AM

Still a lot of E-skip on the TV band. Ch. 3 and Ch. 4 are getting fair E-skip. Ch. 2 is poor. Ch. 5 (KING) is watchable.

FM band: KINK again on 101.9, KPQ on 102.1 with 3/10 signal, CBU on 105.7, CKZZ also on 95.3. So the E-skip's not gone yet!

Please give us updates if you get DX.

Well, before getting limited cable hooked up (in order to get Internet) when I moved to Federal Way last fall, I was on plain ol' "rabbit ears" on my main TV...

4 - KOMO
5 - KING
7 - KIRO
9 - KCTS
11 - KSTW
13 - KCPQ
15 - KCKA (KBTC Translator, fuzzy)
16 - KONG
20 - KTBW
22 - KMYQ
28 - KBTC
33 - KWPX
45 - KHCV
51 - KUNS
62 - K62FS (KSTW Translator, fuzzy)

So pretty much the "norm" except for 15 and 62.

I just finally got my Satellite TV dish and the wooden pole it's on set up, after months of trying to figure out how to do it, since my balcony faces E-NE, so the DirecTV signal just skirts along the back of my building. Had to get the dish past the roof line in a creative way....So now that's set up, next i'll be mounting some antennas onto the pole... and then send the cable from those to the TV and stereo tuner I have specifically set up for DXing (along with my 2 scanners). I also gotta digital converter box with a pass-through, to hook into that DXing TV, so I can see what comes in on the digital side as well. Should have it all setup by tonight or tomorrow so I can finally check out what's coming in!

UPDATE-12:40PM Thursday

FM DXing is getting cooler, unfortunaly, as KINK is gone on 101.9, KPQ degraded signal on 102.1, CBU as usual with CSN translator (Orting) on 105.7, and regular conditions around scattered areas of the FM band.

However, the TV is still blowing up. E-skip on channels 3-5 from Canada, with KING fighting with an unID station mixing with audio. Bars on Chs. 3 and 7, which might be Canada. CHAN on 8. CKVU on 10. We'll keep you updated.

PLEASE UPDATE IF YOU HAVE ANY DX!!!

UPDATE-3:45PM Friday

The conditions have gone CRAZY!

First, KPQ on 102.1 FM. Then on 96.9, E-skip appeared with a brief burst of "(static) www. (static)", rock and pop music, and other brief bursts. After about 15 seconds, it faded out to KGY with a mix of another station (CKLG, probably).

Check your radios for E-skip now!

It's still going CRAZY!!!

UPDATE-4:27PM

FM band: Heard E-skip again! Someone playing Reba McEntire's "Strange" on 95.3 FM. Not sure if it is E-skip, KXLE, or KXXK. 105.7 (CBU) with a song by Michael Jackson (RIP) was rapidly fading in and out with another station, which sounded like rock music. KPQ (102.1 FM) was also fading in and out with another station. KINK was also in, but fading in and out faintly on 101.9 FM.

TV: Activity on Ch. 10, which is CKVU Vancouver, BC. Ch. 8 is going fairly, with some CHAN Vancouver. E-skip on Ch. 2, Ch. 3 and Ch. 4, with some activity on Ch. 5, formerly the late KING-TV analog.

NOAA Weather Radio: 162.475 (WXM62 Olympia) is coming in like a local with a big antenna, as well as 162.425 (WWG24 Port Angeles Marine), and 162.55 (KHB60, local).

NEW ESKIP LOGGING!!!

93.7: KWYR Winner, SD. Heard with ads for National Guard and Ameriprise, and with the mentions of South Dakota and Nebraska. 1120 miles away!

Also heard Sideways by Dierks Bentley, with the mention of being #10 on the countdown. Could this be JR FM?

-crainbebo

UPDATE-5:47PM

FM band: 93.7 now just JR FM alone. 95.3 (Virgin Radio) rapidly fading in and out with another station. 96.1 is a mix of KXXO and CHKG. KOMO-FM on 97.7. KPQ on 102.1. CBU and CSN translator (Orting) on 105.7. We'll keep you posted.

UPDATE-8:53PM

Tonight I went to two parks around my area, and here's what I got in those parks and on the drive over to those parks.

E-skip on THREE frequencies!

99.5: Old rock music heard at stop sign. Who is this?
99.5: When I got to park #1, I heard the Jeremy show (Today's Best Country ABC), then Billy Currington's "People are Crazy". Who is this? The only result was a station in Tucson, AZ.
103.3: Music interview over KMTT translator. Who is this?
104.1: Keith Urban's "Who Would Wanna Be Me". Not sure if it's tropo or E-skip. Do you know what stations played Keith Urban's "Who Would Wanna Be Me" during the 6PM hour Pacific time? (7PM Mountain, 8PM Central)?

Tropo has gone CRAZY!!

(158 miles) After that, 101.1 was a mess of music and IBOC. Must be that KUFO's in the mix. No KWJJ on 99.5, but E-skip yesterday.

TV band: E-skip on Ch. 4 and 5, but no IDs. Sports on ch. 8. (CHAN Vancouver)

-crainbebo

If you go up the scenic Hwy 20 and park right at the silos in Concrete, you can actually get KISC 98.1 in Spokane right now. Not making that up......I did last night..didn't stay long to hear much of it because I had other, more $$$ things to do. My radio stopped at 98.1 in the middle of a wonderful evening of hearing Jason Mraz's Greatest Hit instead of KING-FM.....that happens sometimes up there.....

AH HA! Got KPQ about an hour ago here in Federal Way, a couple times when a couple planes flying into Sea-Tac were flying overhead.... (Being in the flight path of Sea-Tac...Easy for that to happen). Had that "helicopter effect" (If anyone knows what i'm talking about), with KPQ coming over KSWW, but unfortunately KSWW dominated in the end. I don't think "Sunny 102.1" plays "Layla" by Derrick & The Dominos, so I think it had to have been KPQ.

I was driving up Hwy 20 this past weekend and picked up KNBQ 102.9 all the way to Winthrop and Twisp, along with Rock 101.1 out of Vancouver... they were both coming in crystal clear! All of the Seattle area stations started to fade out past Newhalem. Didn't try to pick up any Spokane stations, but these two were the only stations that stopped on my auto-scan.

It will be a day to throw snowballs in HELL indeed when you hear "Layla" on KSWW....
