Tropo Every Morning!

Has anyone else had tropo conditions on the FM band almost every morning. I am located in NJ and I keep receiving stations South and East of me, ranging from New York City down to North Carolina. This morning, Baltimore and DC was showing up on many stations. What causes this consistency?

I grew up in New Jersey and remember this kind of thing on analog TV and FM this time of year. The consistency is due to a stable air mass.

I had an antenna on the roof pointed at New York 80 miles away but sometimes the Baltimore and Washington stations would completely take over at night and early mornings.

And I remember a couple times when channel 7 from Roanoke, Virginia even wiped out channel 7 from Washington. There were 'bars' on the screen like you'd expect with E Skip.

Channel 6 from Richmond could even dominate channel 6 from Philadelphia if I used only the rabbit ears and put them in just the right position.

Good memories.
