Tropo on the computer

Listened to KGLK HD2 oldies this morning all the way from Beaumont to Port Arthur. Fascinating.

It is already opening up tonight...KVST even made it in....and then KROY came booming in....ALSO heard a 3rd signal (with some classic rock).....105.1 out of Lufkin is booming in before sundown....which means tropo is really gonna be heavy tonight and Wed morning.

BTW speaking of HD, is KTRH running HD or just has the 8sec delay in line? Listening last night, still heard the delay between it and KLVI...

San Antonio and Austin blasting into Houston this morning, with Laredo at 94-9. Got Spanish, sounds like Radio Aleluya, on 106-1, no sign of The Big Dog. Lufkin on 105-1, KKYS on 104-7, classic rock on 104-3 (did Lovelady light back up?) Both Air 1s fighting this morning on 103-7 (KXAI Refugio & KHJK La Porte) KFTX beating up KFNC on 97-5, Air 1 on 97-7 (KZAR McQueeney), weak unID hip hop on 96-9 (no trace of KXBJ), KTFM @ 94-1(no trace of Q 94), KMKS Bay City @ 102-5, KROY decapitating KVST all the way up here north of the Belt, and Bob Austin like a local at 103-5.

No sign of KXXF, at all. 105-3 is a war between Seguin's "Magic" and*KTWL from Hempstead.

KTRH did have an HD channel before, but I don't know if that's still the case. Originally KLOL HD-2, then it moved to KKRW HD-3. I have no idea if it is still a sub of KQBT.

Bruce? What says the trusty Pioneer SuperTuner?

I checked the dial around 9:45pm while driving from the Galleria area to Garden Oaks on the West Loop and made a few observations, although nothing too impressive:

KVST on 99.7 was coming in like a local with no sign of KROY.

Modern country on 105.5 but wasn't able to catch an ID.

Eagle 92.3 Livingston was pretty clear.

The frequent Victoria visitors were coming in well at 98.7 and 102.5.

WBAP seemed less noisy than usual

WWL is one of my presets and it is a nighttime hit or miss inside the city, depending on propagation, but sounded like a local. I hope this is a trend.

There are AM stations running IBOC/HD, stan. I think all have shut down in Houston. The last one I heard was KMIC a little over a year ago. Don't think it is anymore

According to Radio Disney's web, 1590 IS running IBOC....KTRH has a 8 second delay behind KLVI but I dont hear the IBUZ saws on the adjancents...so I suspect the analog delay is still up but the IBOC carriers are not present.

If someone can confirm its on and off, Im just curious...

Thanks
