Tropo Report June 3, 2015

Several interesting pick-ups on the car radio driving Rt. 611 in Bucks County about noon today. I was getting 2 clear but overlapping stations on 99.3, was able to clearly identify them as WLRQ, an AC in Cocoa (SE) Florida and WWCN ESPN in Ft. Myers beach (SW Florida). Also getting clearly 'Jack FM' 99.7 WJKD from Vero Beach, Florida. It's been a long time since I picked up a Florida station on FM. I remember way back ('80's?) picking up 2 Florida TV stations locally. On the other hand, my usual midday station WDVR 89.7 in Sergentsville, which usually booms into Doylestown area, was being run over by a classical station (didn't identify). Any other good reports?

Aweome report! Glad to see some people on here like FM DX like I do!

Does Tropo apply to AM also, because the last few nights in Center City, I captured WQLL from Baltimore and KZQZ from Saint Louis loud and clear all night which is a first never had those come in before...

Hangman, no not at all. Tropo is only FM. You were receiving those signals more clearly because we have had better conditions for skywave signals from the south and west for the past few nights.

That isn't tropo, that is E-Skip. Tropo is generally only for much shorter distances and usually occurs at night and earlier in the morning.
