Truckin' Tom Kent now overnights on 3WS

Good move. Gives them a human presence (albeit not live and local) in those hours, which beats having the computer playing tracks and spots with a canned weather forecast from the night before.

Also, TTK strays from the tried and true playlist and includes a couple of genuine "forgotten" hits per hour.

It's a major upgrade.

Very true RR. There is no reason why 3WS shouldn't have had a real person (like you said "albeit not live and local") a long time ago.

Clear Channel does not treat 3WS like the real radio station it is. A live night person is needed. From what I understand, this lady at night is not local. They dumped a live person for her.

Now, if they would just promote their morning show and the rest of the station better. I remember ALWAYS seeing 3WS tv commercials.

How about it CC? You have a moneymaker there. In order to make even more, you must use some of your money and promote this legendary station. You ruined it with having Greg Gillespie there for a year. Your first good move was firing his ass. Good move in putting Van Dyke as the new boss. Now, help her and the rest of the staff and promote the damn thing. (I have let my feelings here be known to higher ups over there.)

I second that. Really, really well-produced show, lots of energy (but without the puky, boss-jock thing). Most Oldies stations would do well to sound like Kent does on his weeknight show.

Glad he's on the air in 'da burgh.... I'd rather hear him on from 7-Midnight and the VT lady overnight...oh well baby steps!
