"True" by Spandau Ballet

I heard it this morning on Dial Global, only it was a big band version.

Who does this? It sounds good.

It could have been Michael Buble....

"True" is a definately a song ready for a standards station

This version, maybe. The other one would kind of bother me.

Bonnie Raitt can't make me love her.

What you heard was probably the version by Paul Anka from his CD "Rock Swings" (2005), featuring big-band versions of 1980s and '90s rock and pop hits. This CD also includes versions of Van Halen's "Jump" and Eric Clapton's "Tears In Heaven" which have also been played on DG in the past.

Perhaps the most curious cover on the CD: Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

I think I can wait a long time to hear that!

Have you heard a standards cover of "Teen Spirit" featuring a female vocalist? I heard it on a jazz station stream from Brazil and it was one of the strangest things I ever heard..strange in a good way.
