True Oldies 106.7 running TV ads

Apparently, True Oldies 106.7 now has an advertising budget, because I saw an ad for the station on RTN/WSB-DT2 Sunday afternoon.

It featured pictures of the artists and clips of some of the songs they play. Scott Shannon nor Spiff nor Fred was in the ad. I have not seen the ad anywhere else.

I wonder if the River will start panicing...or running more ads (if the River has any money left).

If you think about it this could be a smart move for Citadel considering that a lot of the programming on RTN is from the same time period as some of the music they play.

I have a feeling those TV ads are a trade. TV stations advertise heavily on radio, especially in May and November.

I also heard that True Oldies will start airing a Georgia Tech sports show tonight and every Wednesday. It's a prelude to Georgia Tech play-by-play moving to 106.7 from 790 the Zone in 2009.

Is that true that Georgia Tech is moving? They should especially with regards to basketball. I noticed them mentoning it a few times this morning that the Paul Johnson show would be on Tru Oldies. I thought maybe it had something to do with the Hawks being on 790 tonight.

Re: WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7 running TV ads

It is great to see the TV ads. WYAY-True Oldies 106.7 FM is growing in a rapid way.... Looks like the River 97.1 might be drying up like Lake Lanier. The firing of their PD last week and on-air staff was not a good sign. I guess the 97 song playlist on the River is being eaten away but the 5,000 plus Oldies library of WYAY-True Oldies 106.7

Its great to see your continued posts proving to the world that you cannot read nor digest ratings - as actual numbers have been posted in other threads you started showing that WYAY has LOST audience since they flipped from Country.

The ony thing "growing in a rapid way" is that more and more people are seeing first hand evidence that you have no idea of reality when it comes to radio.

What on-air staff was fired? They fired their PD who VT'd a shift did I miss another firing? All Cox stations took cuts. They did not want to blame the future socialism of America as the root cause so they took pre-emptive measures

All that maters is the delectable Kate McCarthy remains on the air while Jordan Graye stews jut hoping for her shot at Atlanta PMD.

Thank you for your HIGH praise, radioguyinbroadcasting. To my biggest fan, sir I have been in the buisness for a VERY long time. Maybe, some day we can sit down and have a Coke. I will then show you how to read a ratings book, and then you too son, can learn how to read the success that WYAY-True Oldies 106.7 is having. It has been mentioned by many here on this board.

GoodTimesGreatOldies never has any information to back up his claims of rapid growth, staff being fired, etc.... proves he knows nothing about the business.

Someone else posted, and I cant find the thread, about specific audience numbers.. and show they went from listeners in the high 200,000's to somewhere in the low 200,000's....

HOW IS THAT HAVING SUCCESS AND GAINING?

Sir, what book are you reading? Is it from 2004? Go back and read the current book and many older posts here! WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7 has GAINED listeners! Why is it SO hard for you to see? Bless you my blind child! What do have against True Oldies 106.7?

No, the posts are NOT from 2004.. how could I be quoting specific information from posts about TRUE OLDIES 106.7 from 2004? HMM.. the information I quoted was from a post just a week or two ago.

Hey, anyone here with some sense and brains.. am I fighting a losing battle here trying to explain things?

Maybe it's you who knows nothing about the biz. GTGO states True Oldies has a 5000 playlist, prove him wrong. He states that they are the fastest growing station in the ATL, prove him wrong. To quote GTGO: Go back and read the current book and many older posts here! (emphasis mine) Did you? NO!

It's about time those on this board give this man the respect he deserves.

A 5000 Song Playlist? That doesnt mean the station is successfull..

I will check on how big that playlist is!

Others have posted numbers that their audience actually went DOWN!
