"True oldies" come to Chi town.

Read on the Chicago board that 94.7 "the zone" has flipped to "true oldies". Music from mid 50s thru early 70s. I think it is great that a major market station such as 94.7 still thinks there is an audience for oldies.(oldies is not dead). Heck they could take the WLS calls and use their old jingles.
Why not try a "true oldies" format in Milwaukee? Does this market really need 3 classic rock stations? Just a matter of time before one of them has a major ratings landslide.( latest trends has KLH and "the hog" up a bit and " the brew" down a little).
Yes I feel there would be an audience for an oldies station in milwaukee and lets face it WRIT is NOT an oldies station....more of a late 60s-70s AC/disco type format. Thoughts??

I've been listening to WZZN constantly since they flip. Its really good. It sounds a lot like how WZTR/WRIT sounded back in the 1999-2000 era. I think Milwaukee could use an oldies station like this, but its unlikely. Your best bet for regular oldies in Milwaukee area is either WOLX if you're out in Waukesha or Washington (Maybe Walworth) counties or WLIP. On a high end radio such as a car radio or a home stereo you can get WZZN in Racine and Kenosha counties. WIIL bleeds over on weaker radios because its so close by. I get WZZN loud and clear in my car and on my stereo here in the bedroom.<P ID="signature">______________

Well I live in Sheboygan so thats out of the question for me, but there is WOGB 103.1 out of titletown( usually comes in good...sometimes a little bleed over from the hog south of town).WTRW 1590 in Two Rivers is a good station too but at night they drop they're power so much can't pick up anything but about 10 stations all at once lol.
Wish local am 950 would switch back to oldies...espn radio gets them all of maybe 3 listeners.
There is also WVBO 103.9 out of Oshkosh but kiss fm overpowers it,south of Howards Grove.

If Milwaukee got a "true oldies" station, I would listen to it. I listen to KD Radio out of Thousand Oaks CA and WGTO online but can't get much over the air here. WLIP and WTTN are my current sources for oldies over the air. I do catch the Sunday In The Seventies show that The Empire airs on WRIT but I don't listen to them otherwise. Sure would be nice if a station locally would play music from the 50s again.

A station that runs the same satellite service streams. You can listen at www.trueoldieschannel.com

WZZN was streaming when they were active rock so the new oldies format probably will do the same once they get a new website.
