I think we may have a winner for the new WYAY format.

According to Network Solutions, the domain name "trueoldies1067.com" is available for purchase. It has not been "registered" - only parked by Network Solutions.

Also, keep in mind that companies often register erroneous domain names during a switch to keep rumors alive and to create new ones.

This one looks like it may have been a speculator. The fact that it was registered on Friday makes it look particularly suspicious. Citadel registered trueoldies1059.com for Washington DC on the 24th.

True Oldies will work, just like it did the past two times (Fox and Cool). I can't wait to hear the wide variety of 300 oldies for the one-millionth time. I wonder if they will play the Beatles? There's a band I have never get tired of hearing.

LOL! Good times and eight oldies...Fox 97!

Seriously, True Oldies is supposed to be deeper, with more 50s and also some 70s AM gold. Can anyone confirm or deny?

True Oldies does have a deeper playlist...I can confirm. We run True Oldies on one of the stations in our Alabama cluster. It's been successful thus far. Scott Shannon programs it with a deep playlist, primarily 60's gold but also a few 50's and 70's as stated. A service with a fun sound and even its own retro jingles. There are theme weekends almost every weekend which help to keep things interesting. There is also some pre-processing done on the True Oldies feed which gives the music that classic 'compressed' sound from days of old. The only real downside is hearing Scott Shannon. Truly a legend in the business but he is the only DJ on the service. He also voices the liners.

Look up Scott Shannon's format "True Oldies" he has a much wider and larger playlist.

WOoohooo you'll finally get everything you have all been asking for...a True Oldies station....And when it happens...everyone will still B#%* about what a horrible station it is and why in the world would they flip to an oldies station.
