Trup does college hoops

Fybush today:
>>but we're going to miss Trupiano, too.

Well I guess he was doing at least one of the March Madness games this weekend on the radio. I was listening (WEEI) to a pre-game show for that and they played highlights--and the voice sounded familiar. The pre-game
host said "that was Jerry Trupiano, calling the action of the ____ game" (forget which one..)
Way back, WAAAAAAY back!

I heard the highlights with Trup on 105.5 Saturday night while I was in Chicopee. I'll miss his calls this season. Over the top, but he was OUR over the top guy.

Agreed on Trup. He isn't the only over the top guy out there, though...the guy who does the Mariners
game (Niehaus, I think his name is) is a real screamer when it comes to HR calls, as is Tom Hamilton
(Indians)--"ah-WAYYYY back! Back to back jacks!" (meaning, back to back HRs of course)

As for the new Sox team, Dave O'Brien has a better voice for play by play and yes, Geffner is best for
maybe pre-game, post-game, score updates. O'Brien has a deeper, kinda baritone voice that can
contrast with Castiglione's more tenor pipes. When I first heard Castiglione and Geffner--O'brien
hadn't started yet--on the first couple Sox exhibition game broadcasts, I was a bit disappointed--
you need a more deep voice to contrast Joe's. Not two higher-voiced announcers.
