Truth Broadcasting Crosses Into Virginia

Stu Epperson's religious chain Truth Broadcasting, which owns, among others, the most powerful signal in the Triad of North Carolina, is picking up a station in Virginia.

It's the currently dark WLVA/590 Lynchburg. The station has run standards, oldies and even an all-news simulcast of WOWK/1280 in Appomattox, and has been mostly dark the past 3 years or so.

The reported price - $275,000. At one time, it was a sister station of 97.9 FM, and a long time ago, presumably, a sister of now-WSET "ABC 13" (then WLVA-TV).

It's not even on the air. He should buy my WODI too.

I used to work for his NY station as CE in 1993 WMCA 570 AM / Salem

Hi, Tony!

You should give him a call down in the Triad. He very well may be interested. He's picked up various other small AMs around North Carolina.

WLLL 930 AM has plenty of land for him to put up towers. They were supposed to diplex off the same tower last year. Where 590 would run 500 watts ND.

It's not even on the air. He should buy my WODI too.
