Try This One For Size (Music Works On AM...WHBB Anyway)

Starting Monday, the popular "Jazz Cafe" program is moving to a new time slot. This program is brand new to WHBB 1490 AM, in Selma Alabama. It's been on for the past few weeks now and it gaining a lot of traction. So much traction, that Sean Hannity is getting the boot and this program is getting more airtime.

Starting Monday, "The Jazz Cafe" is moving from the 9-10:30 A.M. slot to the 2-6:00 P.M. time slot. A local talk show that was on at 5 P.M. is moving to the 9-10:30 A.M. time slot starting Monday.

To say that music doesn't work on AM is an understatement. If WHBB can program Jazz and make it work, then more power to them.

I'll miss Mr. Sean but when you come a Democrat leaning city, there's nothing much you can do. I'll still have Bill, Rush, Dr. Don Wildmon and Moody Broadcasting to keep me entertained and informed, while I work on establishing my writing career and a radio station of my own.

To "The Cool Jazz Cafe", hope your program will have success, when you move to your new time slot.

This program will continue to be heard on Sundays from 1 P.M. till 4 P.M. on this same radio station.

Does WMRK still do any music? Alao a WALX question- do they ever have any ads? I listened one day all the way from Selma to Hoover and never heard one, not even a PSA.

On the weekends. They cater to Oldies music from the 50s to the early 90s.

Both WALX and WMRK are automated during their music blocks.

I heard some ads on WALX but haven't heard any PSA's in quite a while.

Hope this helps.
