Trying to find info on 1970 WFAA AM DJ Don Norman

Hi everyone, I found this great forum on an internet search and hoping you might help me.

I have seen at least one post about WFAA radio personality Don Norman and I
am hoping others will remember him too. I have looked high and low to find out what happened to this guy. I have so many fond memories
of listening to him as a child. It was back in May of 1970 when I was 10 when he did the midnight shift on WFAA 570 and I even wrote him fan letters that he read on the air.( It was usually
me and a guy from Mexia that wrote him.) I remember so well how he would check to see if he got a letter ( It was in his lunch bag with his sandwich) and how he read the weather which was hilarious and all the music he played. He was a STAR in my eyes. Sadly I had to go back to school that fall and I think he left the airwaves because I couldnt find him on there anymore.

I would give anything just to hear a small aircheck of those shows. or even hear his voice on youtube ( I found out on this forum he was channel 8s booth announcer). I would just like to read a bio or something on him.or just to find someone who listened to him like I did . I did finally find a picture of him on a WFAA survey on the internet and that was very cool.

So thanks if anyone can help or remember him. Hope this not out of place to ask. I will be heartbroken to hear he passed but he has got to be in his 90s by now. I have looked and looked for years.

Thank you

I worked with Don at both WFAA TV and WFAA 570 radio in the years you mentioned. I last heard from Don in ther mid 70's and have no idea where is might be today. You described him well and he was a great person. The only person who might know about Don is Bud Buschard and you can probably find him on the internet thru a Google search. Bud was a Channel 8 producer and later an announcer on WFAA 570 radio.

Let me know what you find.

Tony
