Trying to remember a game!

I used to love a game in the 70s or 80s on TV,i thought it was "TO TELL THE TRUTH" but i guess not....

It was 4 players who had a gadget given to them and all 4 had to try and describe what it was and how it worked....

Then a winner was revealed when all 4 had described the item..

ANYONE REMEMBER WHAT THIS WAS?? (It was in a brown circular room)

Sounds almost certainly like Liar's Club. Four celebs on panel, given some obscure or odd-looking gadget, each describing what it is and what it's used for, only one telling the truth and the other three lying. I always wondered if the lying panelists (they were almost always comedians) came up with their descriptions or if they were written for them by staff.
 
For sure, it was the Liar's Club. If I recall, Larry Hovis (formerly of Hogan's Heroes) was a producer and regular panelist. I believe Betty White (Allen Ludden's wife -- he also hosted) also appeared a few times. Players made their bets and determined who was being honest; the right pick earned the wagered points based on the odds given. Being wrong could cost you points.

Incidentally, a remake of the Liar's Club was produced in Canada in the late '80s and/or early '90s in Vancouver. It used to be rerun on Prime (now known as TVTropolis) and I think (although I don't have this channel I'm about to say) it is currently in reruns on Game TV (Bell TV channel 274, call it a Canadian version of Game Show Network of sorts).
 
Rod Serling hosted the original Liar's Club in 1969. Not sure of the network, or if it was syndicated. I don't have my Brooks & Marsh book with me.

And the late-70s version was syndicated. I recall watching it. To me it was pretty boring. No "action" of a game show.
 
Fun Fact: David Letterman was a frequent panelist on Liar's Club when Dave was doing stand-up in Los Angeles. The show probably helped get him greater recognition from the brass at NBC.
 
The original Liars Club (1969) was hosted by Rod Serling (The Twilight Zone) He was a very good host - witty and engaging. The second host in the mid 70s was Bill Armstrong, and Allen Ludden followed after that.
