Trying To Remember The Name Of A Song

One of our local AM stations has started playing some serious oldies. Since they're all computer, they don't announce the names of the songs. I turned on the radio to go to sleep a few nights ago. After I had dozed off, I woke up to a song by a male-female duo. The female is VERY nasal sounding. The guy's vocal is very much overpowered by the female's vocal. It's not Dale and Grace (not nearly nasal enough). It has to be from the late 50s or early 60s. Since I was asleep, I cannot even remember the words, but as I recall, if may have had a religious theme, but don't hold me to that.

The female sounds a lot like the lady in "Summertime" by The Jamies. It's not Dick and Dee Dee. I'm sure a lot of people here know what it was. I hope there's something in my post that will give you a clue. It's definitely an "oh wow!" oldie. Argh!!

If I sing a few bars will you let me know if you recognize it? ;D

If it had a religious theme and sounded not quite nasally enough to be Dale and Grace, but had a Jamies feel to it, maybe it was "Thou Shalt Not Steal", by Dick and Dee Dee, even though you are sure it was not Dick and Dee Dee.

Sure is, and a goodie too. LOL

ah, yes you're right, but also, the $24,000,000 question(used to be $24,000,inflation) is, why would their records be considered incestuous ...I'll be back later to check for the correct anwer.

"love is just a sin away"
"stickin' together"
"old fashioned love"
"two divided by love"

They were a father-daughter team, but I doubt anyone thought they were singing to each other.
you go the front of the class.....no, but that's how they ask the question on Jeopardy.

What do the Greg Kihn band and Kenny Jennings have in common, one word------- ;D I'll be back later for the answer..taking too long, where are you Silkie when I need you..off line :(

Ah, sheesh, Hornet, I'm sorry about that. What is it about being daddy's little girl that upsets people so? That might be the bigger question.
