TSN RADIO

It's in Dallas, co-located with KRLD.

It stands for Texas State Network. I remember once when I visited them when they were in Ft. Worth at KFJZ. I was running at the time MRN, the Mississippi Radio Network. I was impressed. They actually had separate news writers. At MRN, the announcer did his own reporting, writing, etc., but still it was mostly rip-n-read.

TSN briefly had a competitor, IBC (Interstate Broadcasting Company) which also had Louisiana and Mississippi state networks. IBC lasted less than a year. The investor pulled the plug.

There's a little bit of TSN's hsitory on its website.

TSN has bounced around with different owners. Years ago it operated out of the original KFJZ in Fort Worth.

Also, when I was in town from 1976 to 1978 it ran out of the KFJZ-AM and KFJZ-FM building. It was owed by a radio group out of Tulsa, Oklahoma
at the time.

There is also a "TSN Radio" that just launched in Toronto, i.e. an all-sports radio station that carries the branding of TSN, Canada's version of ESPN... I wonder if there's ever been an intellectual property conflict between the two... ???
