Tubby and Lester/Officer Don

Kennedy was also one of the original owners of WLKS-FM.

And wasn't he the booth announcer for SB-TV for a long time?

Don Kennedy owned WKLS-FM for many many years.
At the same time he did the "Officer Don" kids program on WSB-TV.
Yes, Don was one of several "booth announcers". These guys would sit around
and each half hour between NBC TV programs, open the mike and say:
"You're watching WSB-TV, Channel 2, Atlanta." Other booth announcers
were John Anderson, Charlie Welch, Harvey Pilant, and Johnny Beckman.
Maybe others......who I cannot recall at this moment.
Both Beckman and Welch also did on air weather. At the time, TV weathermen
did not have to be certified meteorologists. But later, I think both Welch and
Beckman did get certifications. Welch later moved to the Weather Channel.
Johnny Beckman eventually moved to Channel 11, I think. Where are all these
guys today? Good old days of Television, for sure !
