Tucker Carlson - Not A Chance

Tucker Carlson is okay guest material but not host material.
His new MSNBC cable show won't push Larry King or Hannity off the map. Its format is confusing and their revolving guests including Jay Severin are marginal. Severin looks like he was scalped and his alter ego is animated but looks more masculine than Severin. Both are distubing.
Carlson doesn't seem to own the show as well. It lacks focus and direction. Bring back John Mac Enroe. ;-)

Never saw Mac, will never see Bowtie/Severin. The PBS experience was enough.

And how many shows has he done on MSNBC to warrant this judgement?

Exactly! Finally some common sense here. Work out the knocks and pings during the summer. Or maybe 'parklane' can get their own show and we can tear it to shreads 10 minutes into it.

Agree on Carlson. Meantime at CNN, what's the deal with Nancy Grace? Granted, she's easy on the eyes, but so are endless numbers of other female show hosts. Her syrupy voice doesn't position her against the competition, she often sounds as if she doesn't know where her next word or sentence is coming from, and she just doesn't seem very well prepped for her shows. Numerous other viewers have voiced the same and more intense concerns, so the negative outlook on her presence on-air isn't an isolated observation.

Perhaps my perspective is skewed, perhaps not. Thoughts?

I think Nancy's whole appeal is as an iconoclast. If she could do a perfect read she'd just be another host. I have no idea about her numbers but as long as women keep getting into dreadful difficulties she's going to do well.
As far as Carlson goes I used to look through the fence of his HS. Talk about a different world. It was on a cliff(of sorts) overlooking the Atlantic. Life is tough and Tucker knows it.
