New York radio bores me and since I have more portable mp3 players than portable radios, I thought I'd check this morning to see what Tucson radio has to offer to the Podcast world.

I see Johnjay and Rich have jumped into the fray, and KIIM's Buzz Jackson has a podcast. Anyone else I'm missing out on? Anyone talking on-air about podcast plans?
______________

Who in God's name has time to listen to these? To say nothing of recording them?

About 6 million people so far.

Wow. 6 million people have downloaded a podcast once.

Factual disconnect alert.

That's an April figure, and only takes into consideration those with portable MP3 players. Those numbers are only going to continue to grow. Aggregators make it easy to subscribe and collect, delivering audio to the listener with no further effort on their part.

For radio, it's another way to provide additional content for your listeners while attracting more. It's also another potential source of revenue. I'm guessing people were just as cynical when stations were putting up websites.
______________

Podcasting rocks. I get to hear morning shows from all over the country, just hours after they get off the air.

Its not a True Podcast but I put up my Two hours every sunday on my site from the Jolt show and we get a lot of downloads for them. I hear a ton of shows, mornings, that are doing them because once they have the archive its supposed to be pretty easy??

Yes, it's pretty easy, especially if you use feedburner - the hard place is apparently finding some place to store the audio files.
