I ended up doing Mornings Across from both Kimmel, who went by the name Chris and Carson who worked nights at KCMJ KC92.7 In Palm Springs. Kimmel had a pretty good show and tried a ton of different things but at the time, that market wasn't ready for him. Carson's mom still does Public Access TV in the Desert and changed her name to Patty Caruso Daly when Carson was "moving up the charts." I've always been told that KFMA was a good jumping pad to KROQ in LA.
