Tulsa Adult Contemporary

Will Tulsa, OK going to have another AC station? The last AC station in Tulsa was EZ 92.9 and flipped to Adult Hits as BOB 92.9 FM

Depending on how you slice the format, Mix 96 IS AC.

I'd also argue that 106.1 could almost be labeled a new kind of AC, playing a gold-based format of the late 80s, 90s, & 2000s, and occasionally throwing in a nearly-new song they think will appeal to their 20-something and 30-something audience.

I don't know that we WILL see another soft-focused AC... it seems to me those looking for soft AC are going to CCM (KXOJ, Air1, etc.) while those entering the traditional AC demo seem to be responding best to almost a straight "oldies" format (the music of their youth).

92.1 is doing well, 92.9 hasn't come to their senses yet, 94.1 is doing OK with their take on classic rock, 95.5 is on top, 96.5 is the only true AC in town now, 97.5 is still on top with rock, 98.5 is Journal & the last stand for the KVOO calls, 99.5 is... well, their signal isn't what you'd hope for with AC... 100.9 is in my opinion soft AC, 101.5 is a small signal & I guess doing well with Hispanic-targeted programming, 102.3 is KRMG's last chance to capture a younger audience, 103.3 is slowly moving forward in the years with their classic rock, 104.5 is the only alternative rock outlet in town, 105.3 is the only FM pure urban signal, 106.1... well, let's wait for the book... 106.9 is the closest thing Tulsa has to top-40...

92.9 could flip back but if they didn't think it would work before I don't think they would think it would work now (would LOVE to see them go "Christmas 92.9" on December 26th for a whole year!).

94.1's numbers aren't screamin' but they have a heck of a team & really a heck of a format and I suspect it sells decently.

I suspect but don't know that 98.5 does OK; no reason to just GIVE your audience to Cox.

99.5 WAS AC in the past, but it was never able to stick with it.

104.5 I assume is making decent enough money (despite claims elsewhere on Radio-Info that "alternative is dead").

105.3 is a labor of love that won't change unless they sell it... and again, there are signal limitations to deal with.

...I don't see an AC flip in ANYBODY'S future... do you?
