TUNA IS BACK.....KUDOS TO KRTH!

Smart move on KRTH's part. One of the last great L.A. deejay's on the station with a sound he helped make famous!

How great is this. Smart move by K-Earth INDEED!!! Best morning guy ever.

My understanding is that Charlie will be doing weekends and fill-in. Who knows if that's temporary or not?

Yeah, I loooooooooove CT! Gotta find out what his schedule is.

Charlie will be on KEarth Weekends:
9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday,
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday
He will also be filling in for all the regular announcers when they're on vacation
His first fill in gig is starting next week when he will fill in for Joshua Escandon, weekdays from 1 pm - 4 pm.

Thanks for the RadioInfo....... I'm there!

Charlie Tuna is a legend. Great move CBS, get him cheap! Its just like today's radio landscape and a pitty to the legends who deserve so much more than this.

Wouldn't it be great if he stayed in the 1-4pm slot? Nah, that would make too much sense...

It's a whole lot better than the jocks who end up working split shifts doing traffic reports for Airwatch.

I remember when even two weekend shifts at some LA stations could be a nice gig. In about 1980 or so I used to come up from San Diego to do some fill-in work for KABC radio news and at that time working Saturday and Sunday there paid about as much as a Mon-Fri job in San Diego.

Charlie Tuna is a legend and works hard to build the stations he is with. This has to be a great "deal" for K-Earth. But it's also a great deal for listeners. Thanks for keepin on Charlie

he should just take Joshua Escandon's timeslot than push Joshua Escandon to weekends

Must be first day jitters...

Listening on the stream, he just signed off with "that'll do it for me..."

Charlie, your line's supposed to be "that'll can it for me..." ;D

A first class guy, friend and one of the top talents of all time!

Way to go Jhani!

I heard his last show. I didn't buy the company line about CC's retaining him for off air duties. Riiiiiiiight! Just until the contract runs out.

I'm glad to see that he's back on air. That's where this long term radio professional belongs.

Congrats to him, and you LA listeners. I'll try to catch him on the stream.

That would indeed make waaaayyyyy too much sense, no argument there.

Ex-KRLA stars Dave Hull & Russ O'Hara are both working at different stations in the Palm Springs area, although Hull will be out of a job come April due to a format flip.

Bringing either of them to KRTH would also be really nice.

great job k earth!b t w love the krth jingle!

indeed. Those jingles do sound great! Mo-re Music...

Most of the jingles sound great, and maybe it's me, but every once in a while I hear one that sounds just a bit off.
Most sound wonderful, like the "More Music" cuts and the "Constant Music" jingle I heard yesterday. But there are times when I'll hear a KRTH jingle that actually sounds a little out of key. I know that Jhani Kaye has always been very hands-on when getting jingles produced and I'm guessing that he was at the sessions for some of these newer, better sounding cuts.
