Tune in radio now broadcast CBS Radio LA?

when did this start?
I remember when Tunein was blocked from CBS Radio's radio stations, you would go under search and type in for example KRTH and it would say "does not stream". so did CBS Radio finally figure out they could make more money by letting Tunein play their stations?, or did Tuinein ask them cause alot of people would complain about having to download another app just to listen to CBS Radio?

just asking :) :) :)

Sony released a Tune In app for the Playstation3 this week and I was fiddling around with it and yes KCBS's Jack-FM HD-2 stream of CBS Sports Radio is available no problem. However, KROQ's HD-2 stream is labeled as "Stream Content Blocked by Request". On the Tunin site that stream open a pop-up to the official radio stream but because of the inherent nature of Sony's really worthless web browser (the Flash version that's hardcoded in the PS3 is version 6 and cannot be upgraded) it cannot do anything to play it.

It seems, the bigger radio congloms like the Clear Channel's and CBS's of the world pick and choose what stations they wish to allow and which to block. Or, it falls more on when the content owner files a DCMA violation with Tunein very much like Youtube videos and the guilty party has nothing else to do but comply.

In the case of CBS Sports Radio in LA it makes sense to let such things slide since the proliferation of HD radio units in cars is very small and miniscule added to the fact that CBS Sports Radio's biggest name, Jim Rome can be heard clearly from a powerful border blaster out of Mexico on XEPRS-1090. If CBS Radio wanted to be complete dinks they could ask for the removal of KCBS's HD-2 stream but since it serve no other purpose than to alienate a potential audience from their content it's one of those times you just say "We have bigger battles to fight than this one."

Cbs Radio isn't only broadcasting the LA radio stations on on TuneIn but a lot of their other markets and national channels as well! This started maybe 7 months to a year ago.

CBS returned their news/talk/sports stations to TuneIn last year, and followed earlier this year with their music stations. Haven't checked yet as to whether they returned their HD2 channels (like KROQ2) to TuneIn, or if they're still holding that back in the event that anyone would really care enough to install their virtually forgotten Radio.com app. Luckily, one can enter the direct stream URL into TuneIn's desktop interface, save it, and listen to it on the website or on the phone app.
