Tuning Crystal Question

Does anyone know if the Tuning Crystals in my old Harris MW 10 A are compatible for use in my backup 5 KW Power Rock? I am considering harvesting these crystals for 1020 since they seem to be in short supply just in case...Any help would be appreciated here

Electrically, it depends on whether both use ovens, have the same input capacity for the osc, and/or have a side trimmer cap for the crystal, and whether the range of that trimmer will allow the new combination to make 1020.

Physical differences may make it difficult but you can always change a socket.

I spoke with Continental, and they said if the crystals in the Harris MW10A are either HA-5 or HA-6 they would be interchangeable to use in the 315R-1 Power Rock. Does the Harris use either one ?

Woody, the time and effort you used to cross post this message across Radio Info, you could have simply called Harris and asked.

The trick is getting someone to answer at Harris. I will call them on Monday. It is sad that they do not support alot of their own product line

Thanks to everyone that helped. It turns out we got International to do a 5 day turn on new crystals for us. They Rock!!!
