The manager was always what I would call a salmon: swimming against the current.It. Gets. Uglier. Now WPOZ has hired a PR company and is calling the employee expose a smear campaign
If memory serves me correctly WPOZ turned off their encoder on all of their stations because somebody over there didn't like the way the station (or in their case station's) sounded with the encoder on. It supposedly messes with the sound although there are ways around that. Supposedly they had within the past year turned the encoders back on, but still do not subscribe to the ratings even though in the diary markets surrounding Orlando they still show up. I remember when they were originally encoding their HD subchannels (the ones they had at the time) would even show up although the majority of the listeners to those were listening to their FM translators. I wonder if they'll re-subscribe now if the new owners of WNUE continue to subscribe in order to show sponsors who underwrite them what their ratings are.David, do you think that was a unilateral decision not to encode, or could another entity have provided him with some incentive not to... as I recall when they did encode they were #1 or very close to the top.
