Yeah, riding in the car the other day and happened to flip over to 106.9 and noticed they were simulcasting 'Bob' off of 97.9. About time, too, since the sale was announced a while ago.
I've been trying to figure out what Centennial could be up to, but I really have no idea. My biggest question is whether or not Oldies will stay on 97.9, which is Centennial's strongest signal. They could very well move Bob to 106.9 on a permanent basis, but on the other hand, it does rate the highest of their stations (well, combined with Bob in Roanoke anyway). 106.9 is really in a bad place and has all kinds of problems because of WTTX on 107.1 plus it's closer to Roanoke but seems to target Lynchburg (probably because of signal issues in Roanoke).
Looking at the book, I wonder if Centennial would consider doing a gospel format? Two gospel stations showed up in the book, one is AM and the other's a Richmond (Crewe) station. This would be interesting I think, because people toward Appomattox can listen to the station in Crewe while the people further west could switch to 106.9. Also, this would be the first station in the book with this format in Roanoke.
Watch all this speculation turn into Hot AC or something.
