I wasn't saying that just liberals can be wacky and hate filled--I was just pointing out that liberals also have their peculiar set of weirdos (as does the right, which was pointed out in many posts above).

I'll list for you all the right-wing hosts I listen to:
Rush Limbaugh
Howie Chizek (local Akron, OH)
Hugh Hewitt
Mike Pintek (KDKA)
Fred Honsberger (KDKA).

I've never listened to Coulter; I've heard Hannity once and didn't like it (in fact, I'm even off his TV show too); and I have no clue who the Melanie Morgan gal is (though I know she's no relation to ME!)

I don't debate your points at all--some (ok, lots) of right-wing hosts do go with the liberals hate America line, which is wrong and the worst form of hyperbole. But the same can be said for many on the left who proclaim ad nauseum that "Bush lied" etc. It's bad politics, and doesn't extend the debate at all. Instead of debating points and issues, we've devolved into fitting any statement into platitudes.

Hope this helps. I didn't intend to be unfair at all--just thought I'd show that BAD hosts (and some weird elements) exist on both sides--and in many high-profile places.

>If talk hosts would worry less about their political leanings, real or otherwise, and more about creating entertaining and compelling radio, then just maybe the genre wouldn't be in the godawful state that it is.

The ones who are successful do worry about creating compelling radio. Which is the problem with much of libtalk and some of conservatalk, the emphasis on ideology rather than entertainment. Then you get people on this board complaining that Ed Schultz and Alan Colmes don't have the required l;evel of ideological purity.<P ID="signature">______________

Johnny, I was giving you a little grief..but i appreciate how you want to be fair and not just do the hit and run thing....most of the debate has been ok so far with a little bit of sniping but what you typed was obviously humor and i didn't take a lotta offense....just a little LOL...

> I'll list for you all the right-wing hosts I listen to:

I listen to the left-leaning hosts below:
(but follow many RW hosts to be able to understand what the RW is up to or what cause are they distorting:

Stephanie Miller
Randi Rhodes
Al Franken
Jay Marvin
Bernie Ward
Mike Malloy
Laura Flanders

I follow Severin, Limbaugh, Hannity, and Ingraham via recordings...on the right to see what they are up to. I don't get to listen to Gene Burns much but when i do I can deal with him better than any of the other right wing hosts....but thats one of the things i love about KGO..my favorite station of all...even over AAR (which is a close second).

>
> I've never listened to Coulter;

Good for you because she is just nonsense is a manly package..LOL..thats mean on my part...and wrong....sorry i couldn't resist Johnny....its just that she is a known plagarist and so hateful about the left. She says things no liberal things at times, much less believes..

I've heard Hannity once and
> didn't like it (in fact, I'm even off his TV show too);

Good for you, I can barely stomach him on radio....much less tv..i use Media Matters as my first (but not only source) when i need to research a Hannity issue on his tv show.

and
> I have no clue who the Melanie Morgan gal is (though I know
> she's no relation to ME!)

She's worst than most lately...as the RW de jour....check out her hardball apperances when she declares that Bush and 9/11 commission was wrong about the connection between Saddam and Osama, she denigrates Cindy Sheehan, and she can't remember hearing that oil might pay for the war....shes amazing...in the bad way

> I don't debate your points at all--some (ok, lots) of

We do it too...but Conservative/RW hosts go a lot further don't you agree. Its always something physical or non-sensical.....not issues-based comments...thats too hard to argue.

But the
> same can be said for many on the left who proclaim ad

Agreed to a point....because Bush did lie....and there is something out there called a paper trail to identify issues that the left finds wrong about Bush.
Anyone can check the Downing Street minutes (confirmed by all) to see how the intelligence was manipulated....but the issues as you say should be debated..but they aren't on both sides....but you get a better chance to go issues on the left...and that you probably agree with ...or at least i hope so.

> Hope this helps. I didn't intend to be unfair at all--just

Again, you were fine because I know your humor. Im just giving you a little knock but enjoy debating you anytime Johnny

But Colmes' pushover patsy persona extends to the entertainment side of talk radio as well. He invented "Radio Graffiti", then stood by and let Hannity steal the concept.

In the 80's and before at WKIS and WNWS, Kane was a liberal. Then he disappeared inside the bowels of WABC, and came back a conservative.

Reply: Correct...Jeff Rense COULD be a progressive host with credibility IF---

Correct...none of these hosts have significant national ratings and many are restricted to shortwave with few if any AM/FM affiliates...

I was referring to hosts such as Ian Punnett, Jeff Rense, Meria Heller, and their various wacko guests such as Henry Makow, Dr. Lorrainne Day, etc. Last Wednesday Jeff Rense with his monthly interview w/ Dr. Day was calling for an investigation into the houlocaust. Really unfortunate to hear this.

Jeff could get more ratings and more credibility if he would stop interviewing certain guests and eliminate discussions of controversial issues. He seems to not want to be a nationally syndicated "progressive" host, which he COULD be *IF* he would *ONLY* discuss Bush, Iraq, alternative energy, and alternative medicine, and not the controversial issues.

Bush and Iraq: Not controversial?

Bush and Iraq are not controversial issues? Really?

Please, please excuse my angry, scatological outburst ... but I am really fed up with Chuck Harder and his stupid radio program.
Tell me: What good has Chuck Harder done over the past 26 years, ever since he got into consumer radio back in 1979? Even way back then, he was causing lots of problems in Tampa, FL, his original stomping ground, saying dumb things on the air and embarrassing a whole bunch of innocent bystanders who were unfortunate enough to incur his childish wrath.
Yes, yes, I know ... there are a bunch of talk-radio jerks out there - Michael Savage, Jeff Rense, Texe Marrs, Bo Gritz, Lyndon LaRouche - who make Adolph Hitler sound like William F. Buckley.
But these blokes are entertainers, and they know it. No one takes them seriously, at least where hard news/information is concerned.
Not so Chuck Harder.
He desperately wants to be taken seriously (he's now billing himself as "the man who sees the future," or something like that), and he goes to great lengths to push his radio Potemkin scheme, pulling the wool over his supporters' eyes.
Face it: Chuck Harder is no better than the blokes previously mentioned. He's a wild-eyed crackpot, a screwball, a nut. Always has been. He should have never, never gotten into issues radio; he should have stayed a DJ. He's got real problems that can't be ignored or laughed off.
Worst of all, he apparently doesn't realize it.
So he goes on and on and on, saying stupid things on the air about the U.S. government, Jews, the Federal Reserve, you name it. He predicts an economic Apocalypse, and preaches survivalism. He continues to act like a complete, total jerk on the radio. Because he is one!
The one Chuck Harder broadcast I'll be glad to hear will be the one that starts out, "Ladies and gentlemen, I have some sad news to tell you ... I am retiring from broadcasting to help my son down in the Cayman Islands ... "
That would put a big smile on my face. And lots of other faces, too, I suspect.

This makes me wonder ... does Chuck Harder have blood on his hands?
Does this make Chuck Harder at least tangentially complicit in the Oklahoma City bombing and the murder of 168 innocent Americans?
Here's a chilling statistic: So far this year, there have been 135 people murdered in Washington, D.C. That's 33 fewer than were killed in OKC on that horrible day, April 19, 1995.
Yes, after Katrina and 9/11, nobody talks about OKC. But that's scant consolation to the relatives and friends of those killed in that attack.
If there is anybody who agrees with me on this issue, please speak out. I am not a spokesperson for OKC victims; I am merely trying to address gross injustices done to innocent Americans by opportunists like Chuck Harder.

It's 7:41 PM EDT, Atlanta, GA, and I am listening to Chuck Harder on Good Politics Radio's Podcast Web site.
Chuck Harder claims that we are borrowing $2 billion per day from China to finance our economic growth.
Let's examine this claim more closely.
Last I heard, our trade deficit with China was somewhere south of $200 billion per year. Assuming a $200 billion trade deficit, that works out to just under $550 million per calendar day, or about $770 billion per working (business) day.
That's the MAXIMUM China trade deficit per day; the actual figure is much lower because our yearly deficit with China is much lower than $200 billion.
So where does Chuck Harder get his $2 billion per day figure?
I'll tell you: As we say in the South, CHUCK HARDER IS A ****ING LIAR!
