Turner Goes To "Cleveland"

Why don't they just change the name of the network to UPN? This will be the 4th show targeting The African American Audience. The other shows being House of Payne, Are We There Yet, and Meet The Browns. 5th if you count the Steve Harvey Show which still on rare occasions pops up in the early morning hours.

Wow, four whole shows? Definitely worthy of a name change. ::)

Is this a good thing? Does it mean Tuner is so convinced that Cleveland will be around and not cancelled that it's worth buying a show that far in advance? Or is it that the show is unlikely to survive to 100 episodes, generally thought needed for TV station (as oppposed to cable) syndication.

Seems awfully early to be selling rights to TV shows

The Cleveland Show is hardly "targeted" specifically at an African-American audience (unless you seriously think Fox's Sunday night 18-49 audience magically changes skin color when Cleveland gives way to Family Guy).

More importantly, though, so what if it were? The network is about comedy, not "white" comedy.
