TURNER SOUTH IS NOW FOX OWNED & FULLY OPERATED

Yesterday marked the first day of Rupert Murdoch's ownership of his latest steal from the once proud Turner empire: Turner South. Many of you will recall Murdoch took control of Sports South (Now FSN South)in 1997. Now with control of both of these cable giants, FOX now has more than 60% of all Braves games on TV and with the team itself getting newowners by the end of the year. What happened to TBS man? ;DThey use to be the coolest thing on the block, now they sold out.It felt weird when I watch ESPN and saw the FOX graphics with the TurnerSouth logo. Don't get too comfortable with it looking like it does now. They plan on changing the name at some point, My prediction:FSN Southeast (The original one will change to FSN Gulf Coast or something like that and focus on states like Alabama & Mississippi)

It has already been announced that Fox will change the name in July, but that there is a strong possibility that it will not become another FSN, but something completely different, albeit still all-sports. The horrible part of this is having to listen to the miserable FSN South announcers on Braves games instead of Skip, Pete and the crew.

I know it would be the end of an era but how long before the Braves leave Turner and get televised on Fox Sports? If so I think Fox will have to hire the current Braves announcers or face a huge backlash. Is it possible for them to do double duy in their contracts? Cause I refuse to watch the games on Fox without the Braves announcers I grew up with.

As an old radio guy... one suggestion.....TURN DOWN THE TV AND TURN ON THE RADIO! See the game... hear the best team of baseball announcers ever assembled!Joe

If FOX can rename FSN WEST2 FSN PRIME TICKETLogic says that maybe FSN SPORTSOUTH

I'd like to see both Fox owned outlets to stay here. I have enjoyed the alternate sports programming. Viewers were able to see both ACC and sEC college baseball championship games thanks to Fox shwoing them on two channels at the same time. It gives Fox Sports another outlet for college basketball and college football season. More games for the sports fan to see. I love it.

In the late 70's, early 80's WSB Radio used to have a promo about the UGA Games. Watch the game on the TV with the sound off. The spot said something about UGA football is not complete without Larry Munson.

I do that thru an AM station up here in Tennessee. The problem is on cable there is about a 2-3 second delay between the radio and TV, so I hear it befiore I see it, which gets sort of annoying after awhile. Still, not as annoying as Bob Rathbun.

Munson's one of the last of a breed.

Does anybody notice the strange coincidence that the Braves have gone down the crapper since Fox took over Turner South's operations? I know that has nothing to do with it...but it seems sort of eerie.

I've been hearing Mr. Munson long before I moved here to Atlanta. He's know for raising his voice everytime a UGA player scores a touchdown. Remember when this famous UGA star made a touchdown back in '81? "LINSEY SCOTT, LINSEY SCOTT, LINSEY SCOTT, LINSEY SCOTT"!!! WHOOOOOOOO! To quote that famous AS radio slogan, "Good Times, Great Memories".
