Turner/Time Warner to no longer operate former TBS OTA station

Turner has announced that WPCH "Peachtree TV", the former WTBS, will no longer be operated by Turner. They will continue to own the license, but they have LMA'ed WPCH to Meredith, which owns CBS affiliate WGCL. Meredith's entire broadcast division is headquartered in Atlanta. In addition...Fox Sports will produce all of the Braves games WPCH has the rights to. This also ends the era of the legendary Braves radio annoucing team calling the games on TV.

2011 will be the third season that the Braves have had separate broadcast teams for radio and television. Jim Powell and Don Sutton have handled the radio broadcast since '09. In '09, TV play by play was handled by Jon Sciambi (FSN/SportSouth) and Chip Caray (WPCH), and in '10 Caray (FSN/SportSouth) and Ernie Johnson, Jr. (WPCH). Joe Simpson has handled analysis on all TV broadcasts.

Since Skip Caray passed away and Pete Van Wieren retired (hope you're getting better, Pete), the true legends of Braves broadcasts haven't been on the air, have they?
