Turntable platter - How to...

Pedro

I have used 600 grit sandpaper followed by croakus cloth then polished with aluminum polish. You can then apply a clear coat to keep it shiney. BTW I will get that power supply for the stereo 80 scanned this week and sent to you.

I have a pair of SL-1200MkII's will this work on those platters? They are looking pretty ratty and i would like to clean them up.

I suppose you could as long as you remove the platter from the turntable and protect the magnet on the underside of the platter from damage and debris.

Thanks Lane!

The local motorcycle shop should have a polish called "Simichrome" which is made for aluminum. It will shine the platter right up with a little work.

just throw some nice DJ style slipmats over them and call it a day...$25 max and you won't have to worry about seeing the ugly platter ever again....
