TV Channel of the Week, Channel 12

From Charleston, WTLV from Jacksonville usually comes in weakly during any skip time, even on rabbit ears, and on some nights, WRDW from Augusta comes in.

I have never picked up Winston-Salem or West Palm Beach, but I'm sure people with better antenna systems have in our area.

Here in Memphis, 12 is pretty open. Booneville, MS comes in really aabout all the time. Other regulars include WJTV Jackson, and recently KTHV-DT Little Rock. And, yes. A few weeks ago, I saw WYES. Also, its DT on 11 made the trip.

The best I've done so far down here in Grenada, Miss. is morning skip from Jackson, Memphis and New Orleans.

The same morning I was getting WJTV on channel 12, WYES-DT on 11 was locked in solid. Although the trip to Jackson/Memphis is just over 100 miles, this was on a set of rabbit ears sitting four feet off the ground in a home inundated with RF all over ch's 2-13.

It's times like this I wish my little portable color TV still worked properly; I'd love to get out of this RF-hole and get up in the hills and do some real DXing!

For me in Bothell, WA
Channel 12 is dominated by a weak signal of KVOS Bellingham, WA, about 70-80 miles away from my house.

I have DX'ed from my location in Lake Mary, FL (w/large outdoor directional antenna and pre-amp)

DTV: WTVT-DT (most common, since it's the closest to my location)

TV: WPEC, WSFA, WTLV

Rochester NY -

Mostly splatter from WHAM-TV 13, less than a mile away. When WHAM's off the air, I can see CHEX-TV Peterborough, Ontario, and very, very rarely WICU Erie PA or WBNG Binghamton NY.

WHAM-DT will move to 13 from 59 in February, so 12 should continue to be a challenge here.

Live on the Louisiana coast and get the following:

Get Local WYES Analog signal (Is supposed to go permanently off air in February for channel 11)

But when the station used to go off the air, or when the analog signal has issues, KBMT Beaumont,TX and WJTV Jackson,Ms. come in normally

Channel 12 is KPTV (NTSC) here.......as I understand it, KPTV's ATSC feed will be moving onto channel 12 next February from channel 30 where it's been for the last several years. (KPDX--currently 48AT/49NT--will be inhabiting 30 after that point.)
