TV CHANNEL w/AM AUDIO BLEED-THRU

WAWW-LP is a 27kw TV translator on channel 38 in Rochester. It broadcasts the Home Shopping Network 24/7. What is odd about it is that as soon as local WHTK AM switches to its night directional pattern, audio from the AM station bleeds into the channel 38 audio at a noticably high level. WHTK is a 5kw DA-N and its towers are more than a mile away from the TV translator which is on Pinnacle Hill. No cable or dish, I'm viewing OTA. How is this bleed-thru happening?

Since no one else has jumped in here I will with my limited state of the art technical knowledge. My guess is, that the low powered TV channel has very poor equipment to start with. Probably a lot of outdated stuff and duct tape. So probably a harmonic or just plain RF from 1280 kc is leaking thru. As the crow flies, it is not a great distance between the two facilities.
