TV Channels of the Week - 21 thru 27

What can you get on TV channels 21 - 27? (Before or since DTV transition)

Before the DTV transition, I could get the following from here in Vermilion, OH

21 - WFMJ/Youngstown, OH (tropo)
WPTA/Ft. Wayne, IN (tropo)
22 - Global affiliate from Canada (varying strength). Not sure exact city
23 - WPVX/Akron, OH (rather weak)
24 - WNWO/Toledo, OH (semi-local)
25 - WVIZ/Cleveland, OH (local)
26 - blank except for occasional low-power Detroit station
27 - WKBN/Youngstown, OH (tropo)

Did you do 2 - 13 yet?

There was a thread once for TV Channels 2 - 6 that someone else started and then later I did 7 - 13. It was before the site was updated and moved to new servers so it may be difficult to locate them now. Next week I'll re-do the 2 thru 6 thread and following week the 7 thru 13 thread.

Cool

When I was living in Pacifica

21 - nothing
22 - nothing
23 - nothing
24 - nothing
25 - Bleed from KTSF
26 - KTSF (Ind) San Francisco
27 - nothing

Only one I had was KMYQ/KTWB 22, our local WB/MNTV affiliate in Seattle. Now KZJO. Had no sign of KBCB-24 Bellingham, even though KVOS-12 came in. If only I had a time machine going back before the transition, got that VHF/UHF antenna on top of the house working and pointed it north, 24 would probably come in.

In Gary, IN, this is what I got in the analog era, & now in the digital era.

Analog:

21 Nothing

22 WSBT-TV (CBS) South Bend, IN

23 WWME-CA Chicago (still on the air until Weigel Broadcasting decides to shut off, which probably won't be until September 2015, or when the transmitter fails, & can't get parts, whichever comes first).

24 WHVI-LP Valparaiso, IN (was getting this station until it signed off, probably more than a year ago, because LeSea Broadcasting couldn't come up with the money to convert this station to digital, & decided to turn it off, & turned in the license)

24 WCGV Milwaukee, WI (Was Independent when I usually picked it up) (used to get this during tropo, until WHVI-LP signed on in 2000 - 2003, not sure which year).

25 W25DW Arbury Hills, IL (only Arbury Hills in Illinois, is a High School by that name in Tinley Park, IL) Aired HSN only in the analog days.

26 WCIU Chicago (Independent)

27 Nothing

Digital:

21 WYCC Chicago (PBS) (also carries FNX on 20.2 & Mhz Worldview on 20.3)

22 WSBT-TV South Bend, IN (CBS) (also has an independent subchannel, programmed by WSBT on 22.2)

23 Nothing, because I pick up the analog signal

24 WRJK-LP (should really be WRJK-LD, since it's digital) (don't always get this station, as it's nulled toward Indiana, as it was meant to protect the now silent WHVI-LP Valparaiso, IN)

25 W25DW-D Arbury Hills, IL (as repeated, there's no community in Illinois called Arbury Hills, IL, just a name of a high school in Tinley Park, IL) (has HSN on the main channel, along with a few other subchannels, including LATV, Sonlife, & a 24 hour infomercial channel)

26 Nothing on most days, but I have occasionally got WKOW (ABC) Madison, WI, but once WBBM-TV signs on their translator, I may get that more than WKOW)

27 WCIU Chicago (Independent on 26.1 & 26.2 with 26.2 being time-shifted programming, MeTV on 26.3, MeToo on 26.4, & Bounce on 26.5, & 26.5 was the former home to This TV, until November 1)

Manistee/Onekama, MI

25 - nothing
26 - WGBA Green Bay, WI (weak) - NBC
27 - WCMV Cadillac, MI (strong) - PBS // WCMU
Digital:
Only WCMW (Channel 21) with a strong signal. WCMV and WGBA both stayed on their pre-transition digital channels while WCMW moved back to its old analog channel.

Here are the stations I have seen on channels 21 through 27 from Temperance, MI
Note that the vast majority of these have been seen less than 1% of the time - some just for a few minutes (by tropospheric refraction);
Stations with a "^" are digital, stations without the "^" were analog.
Stations with a bold "L" are (were-analog) seen all of the time.
Stations with a normal "L" seen often, though not always.
Stations with a bold "*" are among the farthest.
