After 18 years hosting a food program on KVCR-TV, Allan Borgen has left television and taken his act to radio.
Borgen began hosting "Let's Dine Out" June 9 on KTIE-AM 590 in San Bernardino, a talk station that specializes in conservative commentary. Borgen's show is about restaurants, entertainment and travel destinations in the Inland region.
The one-hour call-in program is broadcast live 4-5 p.m. Saturdays. It will expand to 90 minutes later this month and eventually to two hours.
Allan Borgen talks about dining out on KTIE-AM 590 in San Bernardino.
The Mission Inn is one of the show's sponsors, and he is paid an undisclosed salary by KTIE.
"It's a local show, and I have a lot of passion for this area," Borgen said. "Anything that has to do with pampering yourself - food, wine, travel - we're going to talk about."
A highlight of the show is a 15-minute segment in which Borgen, two guests and co-host Karen Draper discuss a restaurant where the four of them ate during a previous weekday afternoon.
