TV LAND

Anyone know why TV LAND runs a lot of the same shows days in row?King of Queens is the same 4 shows every Friday Saturday & Sunday evening at 11pm.Today I just turned on Andy Griffith and its the same show as yesterday at this time.

My theory is that when you cut the actual content of a half-hour sitcom to 22 minutes or less
in order to cram in commercials, the fans of that series come away feeling cheated if you only show one episode.

I particularly notice this since I got hooked on The Middle on ABC. The show is so crammed with
commercial blocks it seems as if the actual program content is 20 minutes or less. That perception is
very unsatisfying. I think it is less noticeable though in a block of 3 or 4 episodes.

Not just TV Land but MTV Networks in general. MTV and VH-1 no longer play music videos...and that turned me off from the get-go...my youngest son says "Jersey Shore" is an insult to any television viewer with any common sense. Is it any wonder why the NJ gov is honked off.

My kids have since outgrown Nickelodeon so they don't watch it anymore..I can only hope that Nick has not fallen down to the same garbage can level as MTV and VH-1.

Music Television and Video Hits One still present music videos, just not very often and usually early in the day. I don't understand how one can outgrow Nickelodeon, since I (an adult) still watch programs from Nickelodeon occasionally such as episodes of "SpongeBob Squarepants" and episodes of animated TV series no longer in production, but not very often due to the lack of variety. I would suggest the folks at Nickelodeon acquire more programs from outside sources and folks at Music Television and Video Hits One change the names of their main programming services while the other programming services dedicated to music videos such as MTV Hits continue.

MTV did change their name. They did that once the words "MUSIC TELEVISION" were lopped off from the bottom of the big M logo. VH-1 meant "Video Hits", so technically, it can still be used. How many years has it been since TLC actually stood for The Learning Channel? I rest my case. :(

MTV and VH1 have zero need to change names. Outside of a few constant whiners people out in the real world get over such things and accept that change happens.

Getting back to the original posters question:
Because not everybody watches everyday?

Except that "back in the day", stations would run a different episode in the same time slot each day, and not repeat what aired the previous day. Back at the time, unless you had a VCR, if you missed an episode, you have to wait until the rerun cycle goes around again.

Even today, with the DVR reigning supreme, I find it hard to believe that they repeat the same episode the next day, just because a viewer doesn't watch every day.
