TV: "Major League Baseball" still on 66 -- now?

Since last week, WXPX ch.66 had "Major League Baseball -- Teams To Be Announced" scheduled for Friday nights at 7PM -- in the midst of playoffs, which is seen only on Fox. And this coming Friday (10/13), baseball on 66 will be up against baseball on Fox.

I think this is some kind of error on 66's part -- both the St. Pete Times and Tampa Tribune (Sunday) listings have the error.

Is it just me, or do they recycle the same schedule over and over again, changing it only for Saturday and Sunday nights?

Another reason on why I am still very leery of what i and its stations are doing.

chalk it up to clerical. And as an aside, if the Devil Rays "management" does as little in this off season as it did last off season, you will be hard pressed to find ANY over the air station in Tampa that will air the Rays.....unless the team buys the time.

What a terrible, terrible exhibition of baseball....a lackluster, cluless manager on a team that has some major league talent....

paging Joe Girardi....

Now you know why the Devil Rays hiked their ticket price for 2007. So we can pay for their incompetence. Just like listing a Devil Rays games on WXPX 66 during the baseball playoffs. Great going Sad Stu Sternberg, Matt the Batt Silverman, and Rick "Skill Sets" Vaughn, enjoy your RV shows and Home Improvement shows at Tropicana Field in October.

Although this is a radio board, the Ray's comments do ring true. The perfect word for Joe Maddon...clueless and simply a company man. Has anyone heard Maddon or his siamese twin Butcher use the word "WIN"? Has anyone heard ownership use the word "WIN"? The local media, particularly the Times has been kind to these bumblers. My guess is that the relationship between Vince and the media was worse than we know. Stu, Maddon, and the boys have been media friendly and have gotten a pass on harsh criticism, when in reality, they lost one of the game's managers, fired the pitching coach who has the best staff in baseball (Tigers), and unloaded anyone making something above the minimum. They went to garage sales and bought a bullpen of journeymen. We've been sold a bill of goods by this bunch. Meanwhile, Carl Crawford is busting his rear on a team that is the laughing stock of baseball.

Unfortunately, we won't hear the local media "rip" the Rays--their version of that is kissing up to the Yanks. BTW, in a somewhat related note, how many local outlets have mentioned that Corey Lidle (God rest his soul) was a former Devil Ray first and foremost?

1) When the Rays...or cc....moved the Rays to 1250, the Animal sports staff, who truly never puckered up to the Rays in the last years of Naimoli, dumped on them..and who wouldnt? enough said

2) The biggest laugh about Lidle is that the commish was quick to say that "we've lost a member of our family" . Lidle was a replacement player who was villified by his "teammates," most of whom were it not for a glut of teams, wouldnt see a major league game unless they bought a ticket. The only guy who reportedly got along with him was Fred McGriff...who, is really the only visible guy from that era....

Now look for MLB to see that his widow and child get as little financial assitance as possible.

oh no?

Already MLB is assuming that Lidle was the pilot , which would nullify most of his insurance money.....

ah, the MLB...
