I have noticed that a lot of TV stations - both U.S.and international - are
starting to use video streaming with either Windows Media Player and/or Real
Player like internet radio. there are several I discovered that I never knew
existed - like WKFK-7, KDCG-22, KCTU-5, WJDW-21, The Increase Channel, TBN,
The Liberty Channel, CCTV-9 (a Chinese station broadcasting in English), and
a good many others, many from around the globe in their native language.
any thoughts about this?

There has been a recent increase, but there are countries where most of the stations have been doing this for some time, South Korea for example, though some of them require a free registration where they actually check your National ID card (hey, don't we have that coming here too?) to verify that you're a resident as they don't want non-residents watching.

Most of the stations in the US that have been streaming for a while have been all-religious programming. Hopefully, this will change over time and more stations willl continue to "sign-on".

There are a bunch of shoutcast broadcasters out there doing video, there is a constantly updated list in WINAMP, if you use ALT-L the list comes up, but you have to select video as it usually defaults to radio, close to 300 stations there now.
