TV & Radio listings in the Worcester T&G

As with all daily newspapers, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette has listings for TV & radio stations that are carrying sporting events. In today’s T&G, they have the “local” radio station for tonight’s World Series clash listed as WHAM-AM 1180. That’s right, WHAM-AM from Rochester New York. Although at night I think they come in as good, if not better than any local with actual studios in Central New England. :)

Were the listings outsourced by the publisher?

They may as well have listed a station in Adams, MA (very close to the Albany area)!

But plans have changed--WRKO is carrying tonight's game, acc. to the WRKO site. Though of course they don't do well to the west. If anything, anyone looking for the game out that way who can't get RKO can try
Yanks flagship WCBS, Phils flagship WPHT, or various ESPN stations--1180, 1000 Chicago (unless a hockey game or something pre-empts it?, 1410 Hartford---normally a Yanks station but they get ESPN feed, etc.

Newspaper listings aren't always accurate. You will see for example WEEI listed as carrying two separate
games at the same time on 850. The Globe used to say the Sox games were on "WEEI-FM (sic) 850".
Herald dyslexic listing: "WRPO 630". I think the Herald said last weekend's World Series games were on
"WBZ-FM 98.5"

Today's TV listings in the T&G don't list tonight's WS game. They list a show called "Glee" on Fox25. That paper has really gone down hill.

I guess the editor ignored the fact that Game 6 of the World Series *is necessary*...

Isn't the WTG a Gatehouse Media paper? They're based here in Rochester...maybe someone sent out a master list and got something wrong in the spreadsheet.

Although in Worcester, maybe it (sadly) is true that WHAM will have the best signal there? WRKO's signal is nonexistent in Worcester after dark...
