Sinclair Broadcasting has agreed to renew the NBC affilation for WTWC-TV for another ten years. The new agreement runs through 2016.

I know this is a radio board, but there is no television board that is geared for Tallahassee, Florida. Please don't move, delete, or lock this thread, because I have not violated any TOS rules. I have provided information that may be useful for those living in the Tallahassee market.

**NOTE: I originally posted this on the Florida board, but Managing Editor moved it over to this forum. I wrote my message above, in a way that I was gearing it for Florida readers...and not on a National level, so to speak.

This is the place to put news like this, since we talk about
what's going on at television stations all over the country
on this board. And it's especially interesting, considering
that most Sinclair-owned stations are ABC affiliates (don't
they have a duopoly in Tallahassee with WTXL, the ABC
station there?).

Though three of them (WKEF in Dayton, WICS in Springfield, IL and WICD in Danville, IL) were NBC until last year, when a dispute forced them from NBC, resulting in these three stations joining ABC.

Not anymore -- the duopoly was dissolved earlier this year.

They are? Not the ones in Baltimore. There, Sinclair owns WBFF-Fox 45 and WNUV-CW 54. Scripps owns the ABC affiliate, WMAR-2.

Most...not all. I'm aware that WBFF/WNUV is Sinclair's flagship.

Sinclair has quite a few CW and MyTV affiliates. I recall that there's a CBS affiliate or two out there.
