She was chief there and left at the start of November, ostensibly to spend more time with her family. I'd assume this is just holiday period freelancing.Natasha Stenbok at KIRO doing weather. Formerly at KOIN Portland.
Forgot to follow up on this. Kevin Ko's contract was up and he didn't want to renew at KIRO-TV. He is a multi-media journalist at the CBS station down in San Francisco. Or at least he was a few months ago.Angeli Kakade at KING--
Niku Kazori at KIRO...
Kevin Ko at KIRO...
What's going on?
Yes, the General Manager at KIRO used to be at KOIN so there's a connection there. She was helping to fill-in because of KIRO stuff shortages & holiday. At one point KIRO 7 had former morning weather anchor Brian Monohan, who is now at WSB-TV in Atlanta.. do weather segments for KIRO.. *from Atlanta* either taped or live. WSB-TV is the headquarters station for the Apollo Global/Cox Media Group ownership that also owns KIRO-TV. Have to admit, never seen a person anchor weather from another station 3000 miles away before. She was chief there and left at the start of November, ostensibly to spend more time with her family. I'd assume this is just holiday period freelancing.
Does anyone know what happened? It's one thing to decide after a year or two that the new main anchor isn't working out, but less than 2 months?!?Chris Nguyen is out at KOMO. No longer on the website. That lasted less than 2 months.....what is going on over there?
I'm not expecting the station to say anything, nor do I want every detail. I was hoping an insider might give us a general idea/hint at what happened (ie. family matter, didn't mesh with the team, etc.)If it is a personal issue then they cannot say.

Then, arguably, this discussion board should be shut down. By your logic, we shouldn't be questioning any decision any tv station or personality or network makes, because it's their business. It's none of anyone's business
Please use common sense. Would you want your old employer to come out and say exactly why you aren't working there any more, if it was related to something you did wrong/a problem you had with management/etc.? "Free speech" has jack to do with it.Then, arguably, this discussion board should be shut down. This is my personal opinion and I continue to stand for free speech and discussion of issues surrounding the Top Television markets.
Most of what we discuss here is hearsay from insiders and our personal opinions. If you read my posts, I'm not asking for the station to release any personal information. I was simply asking if anyone had a general sense of what happened. (Apparently, somehow that offends you.) If I'm not "allowed" to ask that, then we should just shut down this board and cancel free speech. Please use common sense. He was quite good, too.Steve Solis, KING 5 anchor, announced on his FB page that he is leaving KING 5 due to Tegna cost-cutting measures. He seemed like a good guy and I certainly wish him well.
