TV Show Cancellation Thread (including ending ones)

That didn't take long for Imaginary Mary. Wasn't a great show, but it was good to see Jenna Elfman again post-Dharma & Greg.
She's been on many series since "Dharma" ended. None lasted more than a season but I watched them all and enjoyed them. Well, at least her.

Meanwhile, if Greg hadn't had his incident, "Criminal Minds" has been on the air through all of Jenna's failures.

I'm sorry to hear about "Dr. Ken". But he got a sitcom, and it would have been weird to recreate the making of "Community".

I don't know why I continued to watch "O'Neals". It wasn't that good and I never liked the gay character. However, the episode where he joined the wrestling team was quite good.

I might have liked "The Catch", but I had too much to watch and didn't have enough of an incentive.

I hope CBS doesn't cancel great programs like Superior Donuts, Mom, 2 Broke Girls, The Great Indoors, The Odd Couple and Life in Pieces.
Most of those got really good ratings.

In the case of "The Odd Couple", I haven't heard good news, but Felix has a possible new role as Trish's partner in an ambulance chasing law firm on "Lethal Weapon", which is a big success for Fox.

I agree and I hope that Kevin Can Wait and Man With A Plan return as well.

I didn't watch Season 5 or Season 6 of 2 Broke Girls. Quite a bit changed. I watch the reruns every day on either Channel 20 (our local station that airs the reruns) or on TBS and when the Season 5 episodes are in the rotation I don't watch. Much like Mike & Molly. I didn't watch many episodes of the last 3 seasons In my opinion Mike & Molly jumped the shark when Molly quit being a teacher in Season 4 Episode 1.

I can't get how good shows get cancelled early and there those tired shows that have ran their course over and over like The fkn Simpsons (way to fkn long), The Middle, and Modern Family.

I agree about The Simpsons. 10-15 seasons was more than enough for Homer, Marge and the kids. But it got VERY boring and stupid after that. For one thing, no one is getting older. Bart is still a stupid 10-year-old, Lisa is still 8, and Maggie still can't talk. If Fox would have let them grow up over time - Homer retiring with Marge, Bart with a wife, Lisa with a husband, Maggie in high school, etc. - I think The Simpsons would be more interesting. Yet it's making it to 2019...how?

The Great Indoors Cancelled at CBS

It’s one season and out for The Great Indoors: CBS has cancelled the freshman comedy, TVLine has confirmed.

The generation-gap sitcom, starring Joel McHale as a rugged reporter for an outdoor-living magazine who’s forced to contend with a staff full of smartphone-addicted millennials, got off to a solid ratings start when it debuted last October to 8.8 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in the key 18-49 demo. In fact, it did well enough to earn a full-season pickup in November, and then additional episodes in January, bringing its freshman run to a total of 22 episodes.

But those early numbers were deceiving, since Indoors was airing on Thursdays behind CBS’ juggernaut The Big Bang Theory. The freshman comedy fared significantly worse when it moved to Mondays, away from Big Bang: The May 1 airing drew just 4.1 million viewers and a 0.8 demo rating.

well that makes 4 timers that can be nuked on the Tivo
-Last Man Standing (LOVED that show)
-2 Broke Girls
-Imaginary Mary
-Great Indoors

Last 2 I havent even watched an episode yet so its an easy nuke (can nuke all shows and the timer in two pushes of the button) :)

Good. The Great Indoors wasn't funny whatsoever. Didn't laugh once. I still didn't really understand the premise of the show.

sorry to see Great Indoors not work, but at least we know Joel's better off doing movies or at least do a "The Soup" like show on Comedy Central, which would a great show concept. sadly E! made a horrible mistake in killing The Soup to make way for more Kardashains family projects and other boring reality shows.

Perhaps because many people have a different, perfectly valid, viewpoint? If 10-15 years was enough for you, awesome. When it reaches the point that enough other people feel the same way, and it's no longer beneficial nor cost effective to produce new episodes, it goes away. Easy peasy.

There are rumors that Underground (WGN America) may be cancelled (not confirmed yet, though), despite its popularity, and the blame is already being put on Sinclair, but I wont say exactly why Sinclair would do it, because its for a political reason.

If every single sitcom on every single channel was cancelled that wouldn't
bother me in the least. The writing, producing, acting, etc, etc is terrible.
No imagination, nothing new and certainly very little to laugh about. I'll
stick with the tried and true, continuing to watch Me-TV, Heroes and Icons,
Cozi, Decades, Get TV, Antenna TV, etc, etc............

So I sat and watched the pilot and youre right. Didnt laugh once. I guess because I'm old and dont get the whole "new generation" and their entitlement
