TV Show Cancellation Thread (including ending ones)

Harry Connick Jr.’s Syndicated Talk Show To End After Two Seasons

Harry Connick Jr.’s syndicated talk show is coming to an end. NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution confirmed today that Season 2 will be the last for Harry.

The show has been a soft ratings performer, but after lengthy talks, NBCU and Fox television stations had decided to renew it for a second season last March. Harry‘s first season premiered with a 1.4 household rating in the metered markets and a 0.7 rating in the women 25-54 demographic.

Harry, which is midway through its second season, features comedic segments, audience participation, human interest stories, celebrity interviews and musical performances led by Connick, who’s joined by his touring band. Justin Stangel and Eric Stangel are executive producers along with Connick and Ann Marie Wilkins.

So KIMA/KEPR here in Central WA has gone through Anderson Live, The Test, Meredith Vieira and now Harry at 9:00am in the past 6-7 years. Whatever replaces Harry will be the 5th show in seven years to air at 9:00. Probably yet another show that lasts a short time.

A newscast at 9am is in everyone's dreams, Matt. This is DMA #114 where even a noon newscast is missing from both NBC and CBS - KNDO/KNDU was the last to have one circa 2003. Now NBC airs TMZ and CBS airs Funny You Should Ask at the noontime hour. I've always thought a reboot of local news would be great - including stock market reports and farm reports. Duh, half of Yakima County consists of fruit, vegetable and alfalfa fields!

Not surprise that Harry got cancelled I thought it wasn't going to get a 3RD season plus WOTV moved Harry when it made it's debut it was at 3PM then new owner Nexstar moved Harry to 9AM in May of last year and moved The Real from 9AM to 3PM.

WGTU (ABC) has been airing it at 10am and 2:07am. Last year they aired it at 9am and 5pm (Dr. Oz moved to 9am and the 5pm hour was taken over by a third run of Judge Judy and the first half of DailyMailTV's run (DailyMail's second half airs at 6pm))

Anytime Connie Britton leaves something it's bound to go downhill.
I was thinking of watching "9-1-1" but she's probably not that big a part of that show. I would have to have a really good reason to watch.

Daphne is upset because Deacon dating really means her mom is gone, Maddie is dating a celebrity and getting criticized online again, Juliette has joined a cult, and there's all sorts of drama with the other characters. I'm just not enjoying it. But I'll go ahead and watch because occasionally I get rewarded. Juliette's baby is so adorable.

I didn't/don't watch 'Nashville', but 9-1-1 is one of my new favorite show's and Britton's character really has been a big part of the show(even with kind of an ensemble cast, Abby still gets some good and usually 'meaty' screen time). Definitely worth checking out.

I'm sorry to hear this. I didn't take the time to watch and now it's too late unless they repeat every episode from the beginning when I finally have time. And no, I'm not watching online.

Meanwhile, "Nashville" is out of episodes for now and they left us hanging. Juliette is in Bolivia and not coming home, though she was willing to take her baby and since her husband won't allow that, she'll use FaceTime. And Will Lexington has no pulse after steroids.

Do you have On-Demand? At least on DIRECTV all the episodes of 9-1-1 are available on FOX on Demand. Just be forwarned there's some scenes that are pretty gory, so if you don't like that sort of thing, don't watch the show. My Mom walked in while I was watching it one Wednesday night and she was disgusted by the gory things that were depicted.

I have basic basic cable. And I don't like gore.
