TV Show Cancellation Thread (including ending ones)

Great. You don't like it. So no one who has an interest should talk about their thoughts. Tune out, or ignore it.

Some--if not many--"entertainers" don't bother wading into those waters. Great for them. But simply because one chose that profession, it doesn't bar them from discussing issues of importance to them.
 
Sure, and workplaces may well implement a politics-free policy. But that individual can share their opinions elsewhere, just as entertainers can. You’re absolutely correct, you could use the self lane, regardless of the topic you don’t want to hear about...or if you just don’t want to talk period. :)

If he/she was to do it on their own persona FB or Twitter page fine. Otherwise even more reasons to use the self-checkout.

Uh...I've been shopping for 60+ years at this point, so I've probably stood in front of cashiers 8,000 times by now, and I think I've experienced the cashier talking politics...maybe...once or no times.

"Uncertain future" ?

I would say the future of the show is certain. Bourdain was the soul of that show, and I don't see how it can go on without him. I have zero interest in food shows, and just a little interest in travel shows, but I did watch Parts Unknown from time to time.
 
the Comedy Central 11:30 PM slot post-Colbert is cursed and the curse has stuck again, this time, Jordan Klepper's The Opposition is the victim of that curse, as Comedy Central has canceled the show after 9 months on the air, the show which was a spoof of Info-Wars and right wing media outlets like Fox News, debuted in September of last year, replacing @Midnight in the slot after the show aired it's last episode in August of that year.

but Klepper will stay with the network for a new weekly series called "Klepper"

June 28 will be the date of that show's series finale as "Kleeper" will be debuting in 2019 in the final hour of "primetime" at 10 PM ET/ 9 PM CT time slot, the day of the week where it will air has not been revealed yet.

and as for the slot itself come July, it's most likely for now a slot that will get repeats of other shows. but it could be possible Comedy Central could just move "The Jim Jeffries Show" in that time slot, since it is a political based comedy talk show and would be a better fit for a Monday-Thursday post Daily Show slot then it is currently now on it's post Tosh.0 (and soon post "Drunk History with Derek Waters") slot as a once a week on Tuesdays show.

Now AMC has Pulled Chris Hardwick's show due to Abuse Allegations at play here.

A day after allegations of emotional abuse and sexual assault were leveled against Chris Hardwick by an ex-girlfriend, AMC has decided today to officially pull the plug on their long time host’s talk show and appearances at San Diego Comic-Con next month.

“We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years,” said the home of The Walking Dead in a statement on Saturday, one day before Season 2 of Talking With Chris Hardwick was set to debut. “We take the troubling allegations that surfaced yesterday very seriously. While we assess the situation, Talking with Chris Hardwick will not air on AMC, and Chris has decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.”

Maintaining radio silence all day yesterday, the cabler had been under increasing pressure to address the premiere of Talking and its overall relationship in lieu of the disturbing claims that Chloe Dykstra made public online early on Friday. Additionally, as Legendary Entertainment quickly wiped all mention of Harwick from the Nerdist site he founded and once owned, AMC found itself up against Hollywood heavyweight Talking guests who wanted no association with Hardwick and the looming SDCC realities.

With Hardwick having been announced on Thursday as the moderator of the first Comic-Con panel of the first female Doctor Who and widely presumed to be handling similar duties, as he has in past years, for TWD panel in the massive Hall H, the accusations swirling around the host now threatened to knee cap a prime promotional platform for AMC.

Clearly in crisis mode, Hardwick himself waited until late late on Friday to address the allegations.

“I was heartbroken to read Chloe’s post,” Hardwick said in his own statement. “Our three year relationship was not perfect—we were ultimately not a good match and argued—even shouted at each other—but I loved her, and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her.”

NBC Don't own the game show The Wall. Techincally Lebron James investment group in a film production company along with Core Media Group and Glassman Media has to either change the host or cut the NBC Broadcast Contracts now that Hardwick is named in an Abuse allegation.

The game show is executive produced by Hardwick, LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Andrew Glassman. NBC just renewed the show for a third season in March. The statement, released to Deadline, says “These allegations about Chris Hardwick took us by surprise as we have had a positive working relationship with him. However, we take allegations of misconduct very seriously. Production on The Wall does not begin until September, and in the meantime we are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome.”

If Hardwick is fired from the show, could LeBron host The Wall, since NBA will still be in the off-season in September? He would have to give executive production to someone else. And if not, maybe Nick Cannon? Howie Mandel will be too busy with a new revival of Deal or No Deal to probably host, albeit he would also be good based off previous experience. (A new revival is coming to CNBC this fall.)

No way. NBA season begins once again in October. No time to film because he'll basically be practicing for the upcoming season.

Abuse allegations aside...I have no opinion on whether or not the charges against him are true. But I have to ask - what is all the love for Hardwick? I think the guy is the verbal equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard.

I don't think Lebron could host the Wall for now unless he announced that he is retiring from the NBA.

But right now you have NBA Pundits all over Lebron over rumors that other NBA teams want him after the loss in the NBA finals. But right now Lebron and other film production companies have to decide to either cut the NBC broadcast contract or change the host.

up until last week, he was considered America's nerd and we seen nerd culture reach it's peak in the last 10 years.
