TV Show Cancellation Thread (including ending ones)

If an owner wants to kill off (or change the name/programming of) a network, they do it. It's theirs. There is no need to "devalue" something.
 
i wonder if SyFy canceling their shows is a way to devaule the network where they could kill it and merge it into either USA or NBCSN to form a second channel for one of those NBC Universal Network. if SyFy dies in the next 2 years, i can see it being turned into NBCSN 2 where all the sporting events that can't air on NBC or NBCSN can air there instead of USA or CNBC.

No way in hell this happens any time soon. There is too many fans of Syfy network and it does good in ratings. Although they may go back to airing some sports on Syfy like when they had WWE on there.

WGN-TV to cancel Man of the People.

Pat Tomasulo has lost his weekly late-night comedy show on WGN-Channel 9. The Tribune Broadcasting station confirmed that it’s pulled the plug on “Man of the People,” the locally produced showcase for the smart-aleck sports anchor on “WGN Morning News.” The last episode will air July 20. Launched in January 2018 with hopes of distribution nationally, the program proved too ambitious and too expensive. But elements of the Saturday night show could be revived on the station’s website. “Pat has built an impressive brand with ‘Man of the People’ on multiple platforms,” said a WGN spokesperson. “We appreciate the creativity, passion and success that Pat and his team have created with the show. We look forward to continued success of ‘Man of the People’ in various formats as we move forward.” Tweeted Tomasulo: “Thanks to all who’ve watched and supported.”

So stupid that they've been renewed multiple seasons because they do well (for summer programming), well enough to convince the powers that be to add a second night of retro shows.

Seems like they know what they're doing.

Right but gsn actually replays the original game shows mostly like wheel of fortune lingo whammy etc.... abc has these stupid remakes.

Not being to your taste is not the same as stupid, particularly when the strategy has worked well. And that misses the point—people can enjoy both the retro and the new-retro.
