TV stations with studios and transmitters in different states

Is this the new transmitter or the old one? It is my understanding they gave up their frequency in the repack and the main channel is now a .2 channel of WJZY.

And because the city of license is in SC they give the SC lottery results.

Technically you’re right, though the main channel is still listed as 55.1 but all their other sub channels moved to WJZY. There is not a “46.2” because it is listed as “55.1.” Nothing changed for cable and satellite.

It's where it transmits physically. WMYT transmits on RF 25.4 (on WJZY's subchannel tier) and maps as virtual 55.

Which US TV stations have their main studios in one state and their transmitting antenna in another? IN New England, for example, we have the following: WLNE 6 (ABC), WJAR 10 (NBC), WPRI 12 (CBS) WSBE 36 (PBS) and WNAC 64 (FOX) all have their studios in Providence, RI (or the nearby suburbs in RI), but their transmitters are all located about 4 miles across the border in Rehoboth, MA. WWJE 50 (Justice) is licensed to Derry, NH, but is now a subchannel of Marlboro, MA WUNI 66 and transmits from Hudson, MA (soon to Needham, MA). WNEU 60 (Telemundo) licensed to Merrimack, NH, moved its main studios to Newton, MA (as part of Comcast/NBC owned NECN) a few months ago and transmits from Needham, MA. WLWC 28 (IonPLus) licensed to New Bedford, MA a few years ago as part of the spectrum changes became a subchannel of WPXQ 69 licensed to Block Island, RI and transmits from Richmond, RI.

WPTZ Plattsburgh NY has offices/studios in Burlington VT and Plattsburgh, but transmits from the top of Mount Mansfield in Vermont.

And back before 2002 WMTW TV Poland Spring ME transmitted from the top of Mount Washington NH.

XETV San Diego the transmitter is in Tijuana and the offices were in San Diego until they lost their CW affiliation back in 2017.
Same with XHDTV. Their offices are in San Diego and their transmitter is in its city of license, Tecate MX.

WNTZ Fox 48 (15.1) is liscensed to Natchez, MS, but there transmitter is across the Mississippi River west of Ferriday, LA. They are able to cover both the Natchez, MS and Alexandria, LA area.

It's been a while since I researched it, but weren't most of the stations on Mt. Washington (NH) actually Maine and Vermont assignments?

I can think of one transmitter site that has stations licensed in three different states located there. The Roxborough tower farm in Philadelphia has WUVP 65, licensed to New Jersey, and WHYY 12 and WDPN-TV 2, both licensed to Delaware.

NBC's Boston station, WBTS-CD (virtual 15), has Nashua NH as its city of license but transmits from the tower farm in Needham MA. NH-licensed WWJE 50 and WNEU 60 also transmit from Massachusetts. WNYA 51, licensed to Adams MA, transmits from the Albany NY tower farm.

WMTW-TV (ABC) channel 8 of Poland Spring, ME was atop Mount Washington in New Hampshire in the analog era. Their current digital transmitter is near Lake Sebago in Baldwin, ME. The old analog signal used to reach into far southern Quebec and eastern Vermont.

I think they were the only TV station which came from there. NBC 6 (Portland), PBS 10 (Augusta), CBS 13 (Portland), FOX 23 (Waterville), PBS 26 (Biddeford), ION 35 (Lewiston) and CW 51 (Portland) have always been in Maine.

WHOM-FM 94.9 (A/C) in the Portland radio market is still licensed to Mount Washington, NH today. I think there's a country station there on 103.7 FM which targets Portland. I think it's WZPK-FM?

I don't have an answer for any Vermont assignments.

The 103.7 on Mount Washington is licensed to North Conway NH, though the signal indeed reaches Portland.

But go one state west to Vermont's highest point, Mount Mansfield, and you'll find WPTZ, licensed to Plattsburgh NY. It moved across the lake during the digital transition.

Did the same happen for WCFE-TV (PBS) channel 57 of Plattsburgh? OR...are they still on Lyon Mountain? (Hope that's right, as I've never been in that part of NY state.)

WCFE's transmitter is still on Lyon Mountain on the New York side. I'd have mentioned it if it moved.
