TV tower in Cherokee County

I just notice a “new” tower about a mile north of the old 105.7 tower near I575. It looks like there is a “TV style” antenna on top. Does anybody know what or who’s tower this is?

My mother & I participated in early voting last month in October 2018 and I don't remember seeing a "TV style" antenna as we went up I-575 north of the cell site (old 105.7) tower at the Rabbit Hill Rd. overpass. There is however another cell site tower further north on Univeter Rd. east of I-575. The tower is indeed visible from I-575 and it's north of the interchange at Exit 14, which is Marietta Hwy./Holly Springs Pkwy. (Old Hwy. 5) AKA the Holly Springs/Canton interchange. What you saw could have been a possible relocation of ION Atlanta WPXA-TV 14's TV transmitter. I don't know this for sure. According to RabbitEars.Info, the ION Atlanta transmitter is technically still located on top of Pine Log Mountain near Waleska & Lake Arrowhead. ION Atlanta's city of license is in Rome. Nearly 2 weeks ago, ION Atlanta was off the air. How could I tell that ION Atlanta was off the air? My parents & I have Xfinity. My mother turned on the TV one day. The TV screen wasn't coming up like she wanted. She was thinking the TV didn't come on at all. So she tried turning it on again and in doing so, she accidentally turned it back off. Then I turned it back on. The screen was still black even after turning the TV back on. I accessed the on screen guide and when the guide came up, that was when I noticed that ION Atlanta was off the air. So my mother & I changed the channel and the picture came up on another channel without any problems. Since that time, ION Atlanta has come back on the air. Anyway, that is all.

WPXA is moving their RF from 31 to 16 when phase 5 of the repack starts in summer of 2019, so yes, that tower could be a factor.

I looked at the FCC website and I cannot find any info that WPXA is relocating their antenna site. The FCC site can have errors sometime but construction of a new tower is uncharacteristically late.
