TV1 - Possible

On Charter Cable in Jackson, TN (and I'd assume most other Charter systems) channel 1 is the On Demand channel, and also channel 000.

Yeah, that's the case with most cable companies now...I think Time Warner uses 1000 though.

Prior to On Demand, channel 1 on Cox Phoenix was the "Cox Learning and Information Channel" (CLIC) which ran short programs about Cox services (though they were updated, e.g. for DVRs) and overnight home shopping. The cable program, the customer info program and I believe the telephone program were hosted by a woman named Claren Scott (years later, I would learn that she was a former KTSP/KSAZ news anchor). The internet program was considerably more updated, hosted by Daphne Munro (channel 15's consumer reporter, ....er, YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUURRRRRR Smart Shopper). The "Coming Up Next" background music sticks in my head to this day. It was a cut of a Non-Stop Music music package. (I think it was Broadcast News: listen to it here especially at 5:04 – the end of that bumper is pretty much that music. The NMSA entry for CLIC: Broadcast News is my submission, though the accompanying information did not get posted.)

CLIC bid farewell in 2008 to a "Coming Soon with On Demand" channel which was considerably less exciting but needed as Cox began the needed network upgrades to roll it out.

EDIT: This archived page shows exactly what was on each CLIC program. Exciting, huh?
