I have a suggestion for CBS Television Stations division and Meredith Corporation.
I would like CBS trade or sell WUPA-TV Channel 69 in Atlanta.
WUPA-TV Channel 69 is the lowest rated station in Atlanta due to higher channel position. The Baltimore Television Market is getting smaller due to declining population and currently ranked #26. I know Phoenix is the fastest growing television market in the nation. It ranked #12 by Nielsen information and measurement company. Good Morning Arizona is number one morning show on KTVK-TV Channel 3. CBS affiliate KPHO-TV is ranked #2 for ten o'clock newscast behind NBC affiliate KPNX-TV Channel 12. Channel 3 and 5 are currently simulcast the news on weekends. I would be a good idea for CBS to make KPHO and KTVK a top rated station in Phoenix Television Market like CBS did with KOVR-TV Channel 13 in Sacramento, California. It would be more profitable if CBS gets a hand on two Meredith Corporation stations in the Phoenix Metropolitan area known as The Valley of the Sun than two CBS-owned station in two different markets.
Here are some possible scenarios for WUPA-TV
Scenario #1- CBS Trade WUPA-TV Atlanta and WJZ-TV Baltimore to Meredith Corporation for CBS affiliate KPHO-TV and independent KTVK-TV. This station swap would give CBS a duopoly and turned KPHO into owned and operated station in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
Scenario #2- CBS to sell WUPA-TV to Meredith Corporation owners of CBS affiliate WCGL-TV if the trade deal with Meredith Corporation fell through.
Scenario #3- CBS Trade WUPA-TV to Meredith Corporation for CBS Affiliate KMOV-TV St. Louis.
Scenario #4- CBS Trade WUPA-TV Atlanta and KCNC-TV Denver to Meredith Corporation for CBS affiliate KPHO-TV and independent KTVK-TV as a possibility.
This swap transaction would be both win-win for CBS and Meredith Corporation.
