Why now? It's not as if "Glee" is a new show; it's into its third season already. What, was the owner hoping that the show's success would bleed over into his comedy club, and when he found out it didn't, then he decided to sue.
According to the article, he trademarked "The Glee Club", which is not the name of the Fox show. Furthermore, the Fox show is more in keeping with the generic term "glee club", whereas this person's club offers entertainment not in keeping with normal expectations.
And he's blaming the show because new clubs he's opened in Oxford and Nottingham haven't been successful. A little economic downturn within the same time period has nothing to do with it?
So people stop and ask if the name of the club has anything to do with the TV show? Ever consider that if the name hadn't captured their attention, they would have never stopped in the first place?
Just my 2c.
